"Microcapsule Remediation System" "Using Vitamins & Anti-oxidants to Protect & Beautify the Hair"
Joshua Bernard, a professional hair artist and President of Retro-Chic International, has longed to develop a hair treatment system that is superior for restoring damaged hair, locking-in color, and providing lasting protection against the drying effects of harsh sunlight and chemical environments. To make this possible, Joshua has teamed with two of the worlds leading molecular scientists to develop the industrys first "Microcapsule Remediation System" for hair conditioning.
Many plant-derived anti-oxidants and vitamins are known to prevent dryness or counteract damage to skin and hair. However, conditioners containing the most effective anti-oxidants tend to rapidly lose their potency after the bottle has been opened and exposed to the air. Retro-Chic International has solved this dilemma by encapsulating three extra-active anti-oxidants: pomegranate extract, rosemary extract, and vitamin E succinate. These tiny microballoons of vitamin E protect the highly active anti-oxidants and extend their shelf-life in the new Retro-Chic Conditioning Potion™, Retro-Bonding Conditioning Potion™ & Retro-Bonding Remedy™.

Retro-Chic Review
Everyone that knows me knows that I love my hair products. For my weekly shampoo this week, I had the pleasure of trying a new product, Retro-Chic Shampooing Potion, available at www.beautychoice.com.
This product was developed by Joshua Bernard, a professional hair artist that teamed with two of the world’s leading molecular scientists to develop the industry’s first "Microcapsule Remediation System" for hair conditioning.
My hair is considered to be very thick, relaxed and shoulder length. I am very selective in the products that I use, especially shampoos because they often contain sulfates that tend to dry out the hair. This product actually was very moisturizing left my hair feeling very clean without feeling stripped of the hairs natural oils as shampoos can often do. I incorporated this into my regular routine of products and was very pleased with the results.
It lathered very well and rinsed without leaving any residue. It has the combined antioxidants of pomegranate extract, rosemary extract, and vitamin E succinate which make the scent and cleansing properties extremely beneficial to the hair.

Joshua Bernard is a hairstyle out of Houston and President of Retro-Chic International. His hair care products utilize the first ever Vitamin Enriched Microencapsulation Conditioning System. I got the opportunity to test out the Retro-Chich Shampooing Potion.
This shampoo works well on all hair types, including chemically treated or colored hair (which mine is). It smells sooo good, and the consistency is thick and creamy, making me feel like it is moisturizing and cleaning and the same time. The bottle is super chic looking and still holds a good 12 ounces of shampoo. It has a natural and maximum color protection formula, vitamins, and anti-oxidants, which made me feel like it was really protecting my hair. After rinsing it out, my hair felt clean and healthy. It's a great professional quality shampoo to use on a daily basis. You can find Retro-Chic by Joshua products at BeautyChoice.com. Check out their product page on Retro-Chic products, and find the Shampooing Potion for $16.00.
Retro-Chic offers a variety of other products including Conditioning Potion, Retro-Bonding Shampooing Potion, Retro-Bonding Conditioning Potion, Retro-Bonding Remedy, and Fixation.

I have been using this product for about two weeks now and I have to say I love it! Don't let first impressions scare you, when I first got it I was skeptical but after a few uses my hair is shinier and softer! The packaging is so cute, really does look like a potion bottle! The scent is amazing! Very citrus like and yummy. The consistency is very thick so you don't have to use a lot to feel like you washed which is great. I have thick curly hair and it makes my hair a lot more manageable. I will definitely recommend this to a friend and will have to purchase more when I run out!

I recently had an opportunity to test out a few products from Retro Chic by Joshua, you know I’m always super intrigued when I stumble across a brand that I’m not familiar with! Another thing that intrigues me while also bringing out the geeky side of me is when a traditional approach to ingredients is just tossed out the window and there’s a Mr. Wizard story behind the formulation of a beauty product. I see this frequently with all of the advances in skincare ingredient technology but I don’t run across it very often in hair products.
There’s an interesting approach to formulation going on over at Retro Chic, check out this excerpt from BeautyChoice.com:
Many plant-derived anti-oxidants and vitamins are known to prevent dryness or counteract damage to skin and hair. Aren’t you curious now? I thought so! Here’s what I thought about the Shampooing Potion and Conditioning Potion:
Shampooing Potion — Upon first impression, it smells delicious! It’s a sweet citrus fragrance with a grapefruit base so it’s really fresh– it earns points in that area. The texture of the shampoo itself is nice, creamy, and pearlescent so I was hopeful that it would lather well. Unfortunately in my case, it didn’t create the luxurious foamy experience I was hoping for. It took some work for it to lather, and while I realize it’s not a necessity for a shampoo to work– it is my personal preference. Please know that it doesn’t mean it’s not doing it’s job! It does however rinse away easily without leaving a super slick coating on my hair– yet it wasn’t so dry that it was screaming to be paired with a conditioner immediately. In my opinion, this serves as a good professional version of a basic everyday shampoo even though it doesn’t have a dozen bells and whistles going off for my own personal use. I do appreciate the scent it leaves behind in my hair and the packaging is attractive to a gal like me! I would be curious to see if I would be better suited for the Retro-Bonding Shampooing Potion instead since I like a little bit more “oomph”.
Conditioning Potion — This is one of the products that has the “Microcapsule Remediation System” built into the ingredients so I was very eager to test it. The Conditioning Potion also gives off a sweet and fresh scent that I enjoy so that’s an immediate plus. I found the conditioner to be surprisingly lightweight for something with such a concentration of antioxidants and conditioning extracts, I was afraid it would be too much but it wasn’t. After rinsing, it did not leave behind that slick coating on my hair either that I don’t find helpful when I’m trying to create lift while drying, so that was a welcome benefit as well. I do think this is a suitable conditioner for all hair types for frequent use without build-up while making hair manageable. If you are in need of more hydration benefits due to having over-processed or uncooperative hair, I would also be curious how the Retro-Bonding Conditioning Potion would perform for those specific needs!

* Packaging: Cute & eye-catching. At first I thought it just had a twist off cap with a wide opening, so it was more difficult to control the amount of product you're putting in your hand. That, and at 6AM, I drop that cap at least twice on average each morning! Then I was just informed you can also pull the cap up and it has a small hole in the top. (Duh. Haha.)
* Scent: Fresh and a little citrusy. No complaints here.
* Texture: Very creamy, which I thought would build up a great lather. Not so.
* End Results: Maybe I need to be using the conditioner with this product, because my hair was very dry after I rinsed this product out. It didn't leave any kind of residue and washed out easily enough, which was nice. But SO DRY! I had to use a leave-in conditioner just so I could comb through my hair and put some moisture back in it.
All in all, I was left hoping for more. But maybe when the products are all used together, the results are worth the price tag. (?)

When I first saw the Retro-Chic Shampooing Potion 12 Oz, I must say that I am very impressed with the packaging. It's very stylish and pink! Yes, ladies it's PINK!!! It comes in a size of 12 oz/350 ml and a little goes a long way with this shampoo. It's very moisturizing to the hair and really hydrates the roots. And oh how I love the scent of this shampoo, it has pomegranate extract, rosemary extract, and vitamin E succinate. It smells perfectly yummy, and also the smells sticks to the hair throughout the day, so that is a plus! Because personally, I love nice scented shampoos, whether if it's a body wash, face wash, shampoo, conditioner, etc. I just got to have a nice scent, it's like it helps me relax and definitely puts me in a good mood. I love how effectively this shampoo cleanse my hair really good, and how it protects it from heat damaged. And here me out, Retro-Chic Shampooing Potion also restore damaged hair, and has a very effective formula to protect colored hair. I must say, that if you have dyed your hair I recommend this shampoo as it will help you lock in the color to your hair. Amazing right?
